Frequently asked questions
Does the generated certificate have legal value?
The generated PDF is an indicative draft: it becomes a valid document only after being signed by hand or digitally by the legal representative named in the form. Without a signature, it has no probative value.
What's the difference between this certificate and the volunteers' register?
The volunteers' register (art. 17 Legislative Decree 117/2017) is the internal list in which the association enters the volunteers who carry out their activity in a non-occasional way. This certificate is the single document that is handed to a volunteer to certify, to them or to a third body (school, university, employer), the period and the hours carried out.
Can the volunteer receive expense reimbursement while remaining unpaid?
Yes: the unpaid nature concerns the absence of payment for the activity performed. Art. 17 of Legislative Decree 117/2017 allows reimbursement of expenses actually incurred and documented by the volunteer, within the limits and conditions set by the association, and excludes any flat-rate reimbursements. This tool does not generate expense reports: check your association's internal rules.
Can I use the certificate for school or university credits?
The certificate contains the data normally requested (period, hours, type of activity, statement of unpaid service, and legal representative's signature), but it's the school or university that decides whether and how to award academic credit: check the institution's requirements in advance.
Who should sign the certificate?
The legal representative of the association (usually the President), or another person with formal delegation. The form asks for the name and qualification of the signatory.
Is the data I enter saved anywhere?
No: the form and PDF generation occur entirely in your browser. No data is sent to our servers or saved outside the current page session.
