Everything you need to know about this tool.
Do I need musical experience to use it?
No, the tool is designed for beginners and intermediate users. It explains each progression in non-technical language ("sad chords", "energetic chords") and shows examples of well-known rap tracks that use that progression. What is a chord progression?
It's a sequence of chords that repeats throughout the track. The I-IV-V progression is the basis of tens of thousands of songs. In rap, the jazz ii-V-I progression is widely used in boom bap samples. Understanding them helps you build beats with harmonic sense. Why is there a section dedicated to Salento music?
Salento's pizzica and taranta use specific modal progressions (Dorian, Phrygian modes) that differ from classical tonal harmony. Many Salento producers blend these elements with rap: the tool makes this easier to explore visually and audibly. Can I export the progressions as MIDI?
Yes, any progression you listen to can be exported as a 4/8-bar MIDI file that can be imported into Ableton, FL Studio, GarageBand. Chords are written in root position voicing for maximum compatibility with DAWs.Does playback work on mobile?
Yes, Tone.js is compatible with mobile, but due to browser policy it requires an initial user interaction (tap/click) to start the audio context. Latency on mobile may be slightly higher than on desktop.
