Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about this tool.

  • Why use creative writing against bullying?

Narrative writing builds empathy: writing from the perspective of a character who experiences or witnesses bullying trains you to see another's point of view. It's an approach validated by school psychology and narrative education.
  • Do the prompts avoid stigmatizing those who bully?

Yes, the prompts are designed to explore the motivations and vulnerabilities of all the characters, rather than simplifying them into "good" and "bad". The approach is based on restorative justice: understanding in order to change.
  • How is it used in an Italian language lesson?

The facilitator selects a prompt, reads it to the class and allows 20-30 minutes for writing. Students then take turns reading their stories aloud in a circle (optional). The session ends with a guided discussion on the emotions that came up. The tool also provides discussion questions.
  • Is what students write shared automatically?

No, texts always stay private. Teachers can collect the stories on paper or via a separate form. There's no automatic online collection system, to protect minors' privacy.
  • Can I request an OnStage workshop for my school?

Yes, OnStage APS offers free anti-bullying writing workshops (as part of funded projects) with qualified facilitators. Contact us at info@onstageaps.com to check availability in your area.
