Everything you need to know about this tool.
How does the syllabification of the rap lyrics work?
The tool uses the pyphen library for Italian (based on the TeX dictionaries), integrated into a FastAPI microservice. Every word is split into phonetic syllables, taking into account diphthongs and elisions typical of rap speech. What is "rhyme density"?
It is the percentage of syllables in a bar that rhyme with another syllable in the lyrics. A rap with a density above 60% is considered technically very rich. The tool calculates density per bar and as an average for the whole track.Does it recognise multisyllabic rhymes?
Yes, it recognises monosyllabic (1 syllable), bisyllabic (2 syllables), trisyllabic (3 syllables) and multisyllabic (4+) rhymes, which are the stylistic signature of technical rappers. Each is weighted differently in the score calculation.Does it work with the Salento dialect or rap slang?
The tool handles non-standard words with an extended dictionary of rap slang and dialect terms (shared with the rap-Salento glossary). Unknown words are syllabified using general phonetic rules. Is the uploaded text saved or shared?
No, the text is processed in memory and never saved on the server. You can safely use it with unpublished, unreleased lyrics. Processing is completely private.
