Slam Poetry Prompts
Generate prompts for slam creative writing
It will be a prompt generator for writing slam poetry texts: emotional openings, starting metaphors, narrative structures, formal constraints. Designed to break through the "blank page anxiety" of emerging writers in OnStage workshops and in school creative writing workshops.
- It will offer categorized prompts: identity, memory, places, future
- It will offer a "constraint" mode with additional formal rules
- It will include thematic prompts on bullying prevention and legality
- It will provide a writing timer with optional ambient music

Everything you need to know about this tool.
How is this different from the prompt section of the Slam Poetry Trainer?
The Slam Poetry Trainer focuses on the stage (3-minute timer, LIPS rules). This tool is for the writing phase: more elaborate prompts, stylistic constraints, a longer writing timer (10-20 minutes), without the pressure of stage time. Are the prompts suitable for middle schools?
Yes, the "junior" section has simplified prompts with direct language and themes closer to the experience of 11-14 year-olds (friendship, school, sport, social media, identity). The adult version has denser, more complex prompts. Can I save what I write?
What you write can be saved locally as plain text or copied to the clipboard. It's never sent to our servers. For technical text analysis, use the "Rap Text Analyzer" tool separately.Do the prompts include themes related to Salento culture?
Yes, there's a dedicated "Salento" section with prompts evoking the plain, the sea, the pizzica, olive trees, and local oral traditions. Perfect for workshops that want to root creative writing in the local area. How can I contribute new prompts?
You can submit prompt suggestions through the in-tool form. Prompts are reviewed by the OnStage editorial team (2-3 weeks) and, if approved, added to the library with credit to the author.
